Stefan Gerard brings over 20 years of experience in multi-disciplinary, marketing communication, business and brand strategy experience. He has worked as the Brand Planning Director at top North American ad agencies Y&R (New York) and Deutsch (Los Angeles), as well as, building his own businesses focused on consumer research, cultural trends and experiential marketing. Most recently, he served as Global Managing Director for Strategic Integration at FleishmanHillard, the third largest global PR communications agency in the firm’s NY office.
Gerard’s multi-disciplinary expertise extends across brand strategy, advertising, public relations, digital/social content, corporate communications, and experiential marketing. Over the years, Gerard has worked in virtually every category including automotive, financial services, technology and consumer packaged goods. His thought leadership in consumer marketing has been applied to leading global brands including Chase Bank, Citibank, Samsung, Cadillac, Bacardi, L’Oreal, SAP, and Bose. At Bensimon Byrne he is involved in client work including Scotia Bank, Constellation Wines and Spirits, Nestle and the LCBO (liquor board).
He has been working with clients in the American cannabis space since 2014, first with GW Pharmaceuticals, and then with Colorado-based, luxury edible cannabis brand, 1906. Since moving to Toronto in 2017, Stefan has been leading Bensimon Byrne’s cannabis thought leadership for its clients including MedReleaf, Supreme and 7Acres, among others.
